Finding Myself
Life is filled with so many ups and downs. My successes and challenges have allowed me to refocus my attention on things that matter, and to distance myself from destructive behaviors.
In January, I celebrated 50 years of life. With such a milestone, I have decided to make this year count.
As I look back, I have noticed that my life is filled with the experiences of others through friendships, books, podcasts, professional conversations, etc. With this, I hope to share some of these Precious Gems with you.
My goals:
Celebrate Successes and Wins (and learn from them -this time I mean it)
Experience Life
Reflect on My Journey and Help You on Yours
Gem #1
Learn to take care of yourself! If you are not well balanced, you will not be present for others. Being well-balanced includes slowing down and smelling the roses. So much of my life has been in a hurry, and for what? Do I have memories I will cherish for the rest of my life -yes. Do my loved ones share these memories -maybe not.
When I ask my children what they remember about their early childhood, one thing that comes up often is my inability to be still.
I do not regret any of these activities, I do regret the amount of time those activities took from my children. Could a few extra quiet special moments have developed into Precious Gems for those special to me?
Take Away: Sit and listen when others have something to say. Even if it is only for a few moments. Share in stories and experiences. Seal it with a laugh and the memory is there forever.
May our shared experiences bring treasured awareness to the world.
